Power Commander III
USB
The Dynojet Power Commander III
USB allows fine-tuning of your fuel-injected motorcycle
when changing air cleaner, pipes, cams, or making other
performance adjustments. These adjustments can be made at
throttle positions from idle to 100% and at engine speed (RPM)
increments of 250. What this translates into is several
hundred individual fuel cells which can be adjusted to richer
or leaner conditions, per your bike's
requirements.
Here at TNT Performance Dyno we
specialize in fuel-injection mapping. If you want the best
performance from your bike, then call us at 615-874-1005 and schedule your
appointment for a custom map. With our secret weapon (aka
"Konrad") and exhaust analyzer we can precisely adjust
your bike to achieve the ideal air / fuel ratio,
resulting in optimum performance. Just this week riders have
traveled to TNT from Louisiana and Michigan because they
recognized the role of proper mapping when pulling it all
together.
If your modifications are in
progress or a trip to Nashville isn't on your agenda, we'll
ship you a Power Commander pre-loaded with a map developed by
Dynojet Research. If
Dynojet offers a map which matches or closely matches
your bike and its unique modifications, we will download that
map into your Power Commander (no charge!) If a map
matching your modifications has not yet been made by Dynojet,
then your Power Commander will come with a
map designed to improve performance over stock.
We always recommend a test with a reputable Power Commander
Tuning Center to ensure proper air/fuel
ratio.
Each Power Commander Kit includes the fuel
adjustment module (fuel & ignition modules are included on
many H-D models), software and USB cables for downloading
maps, and a 9 volt power adapter.Dynojet is continuously
mapping different combinations for each
bike.
We at TNT
Performance Dyno generally discourage our customers from
making adjustments with these buttons as there is no way to
know the effect of the adjustments without running a dyno
test. We recommend custom adjustments be made at authorized
Power Commander Tuning Centers, such as TNT Performance
Dyno.
No wiring
modifications are required; OEM style connectors are supplied

Power Commander V General Features for Harley Davidson

Fuel and Timing control

“Warm Up” fuel adjustment (unit reads engine
temp and allows fuel/timing adjustments based on it).
Previously the PCIIIusb allowed you to add extra fuel during
startup based on “number of revolutions” of the engine. Now,
the PCV can read the exact engine temperature through the
bike’s own ECM which allows the tuner to choose how much
fuel to add for a given engine temp. Cold starting on
heavily modified engines should now be much more
controllable and easy to adjust.
-
Software displays J1850 data from bikes’
stock ECU (this is data such as temp, fuel pulse width,
timing advance, spark knock, etc.)
-
Reduced size (less than half of the size of
PCIII). Installing the unit is now much easier.
-
USB powered from computer (9 volt adapter is
no longer needed for programming)
-
2 position map switching function built in
(map switch not included). You can add any SPST switch (this
is a simple open/closed style switch) and toggle between two
different fuel/timing maps. One could be for power and the
other fuel economy. You might also have a high octane and
low octane map (with different ignition timing settings).
-
Gear/Speed input (allows for map adjustment
based on gear)
-
Analog input (allows user to install any 0-5
volt sensor and build an adjustment table based on its input
such as boost or temperature)
-
With gear position input connected the PCV
is capable of allowing each cylinder to be mapped
individually and for each gear. You could have both the
front and rear cylinder mapped separately and also change
each of those maps for each gear you are in (if required).
This would allow richer maps in lower gears for more power
and leaner maps in the upper gears for better highway fuel
economy.
-
10 throttle position columns (up from 9 on
PCIIIusb). More tuning ranges than PCIIIusb.
-
Enhanced “accel pump” utility (increased
adjustment and sensitivity ranges)
